"NW-Z1000" The Latest Walkman From Sony

The latest Walkman from Sony has been sent to FCC for securing routine approval. The device codenamed NW-Z1000 is expected to compete against Apple’s iPod Touch. The device is already in the Japanese market but has not been launched anywhere else.
In similar lines to the multimedia player from Apple, the Sony Walkman has been attractively designed, with right curves, making it look similar to mobile handsets.
It has been provided with dual-core chipset from Nvidia Tegra (which makes it faster from all latest smartphones of Sony Ericsson. The device also offers RAM 512MB, screen of 4.3-inch along with pixel resolution of 800×480.
It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and also includes features like WiFi, microUSB port, Bluetooth as well as optional onboard storage ranging from 16GB to 64GB.
Pictures of the device seem to indicate that cameras have not been provided either in the front or the rear, which could be a disappointing aspect as iPod Touch offers both. The base model is priced at £200 and the 64GB could be priced around £300.
Sony Ericsson is going to be absorbed into Sony by mid 2012. This will provide the manufacturer from Japan with portfolio that can make it capable to challenge Samsung and Apple.
